پلاتینیوم ایزومو اوروشی تامنوری (Platinum Izumo Urushi Tamenuri)

Platinum Izumo Urushi Tamenuri تجسم هماهنگی میان سنت، صبر و کمال‌گرایی است. بدنه‌ی آن از ابنوس طبیعی (Ebonite) ساخته شده و سپس با لاک طبیعی اوروشی (Urushi lacquer) در چندین لایه آغشته می‌شود. هر لایه با دقت و صبر خشک و صیقل داده می‌شود تا در پایان، سطحی به‌دست آید که در عمق خود زندگی دارد. در فرآیند خاص Tamenuri، لایه‌های نیمه‌شفاف اوروشی، به‌تدریج رنگ قرمز گرمی را در میان تیرگی بدنه آشکار می‌کنند؛ گویی شعله‌ای خاموش در زیر سطح قلم می‌درخشد. با گذر زمان، اوروشی شفاف‌تر می‌شود و درخشش رنگی آن، چون کهربایی زنده، هر روز جان تازه‌ای می‌گیرد.

Platinum Izumo Fountain Pen. The barrel is hand-made from ebonite. This is given a finish of Urushi lacquer - a most traditional of Japanese techniques. Urushi is a natural lacquer and five coats are each painstakingly applied, allowed to harden and polished in turn. A final coat is wax-polished, rubbed with pulp paper and oil polished - all repeated three times. The resulting rich, deep finish is highly prized and can be seen on many Japanese craft pieces. The Tamenuri process is used to imbue a subtle red hue to the barrel and cap where they meet.

The 18k gold bi-colour nib is the usual supreme Platinum quality.

Izumo is presented in a wooden giftbox imprinted with the Izumo logo and includes a special fabric pen pouch. Please note that the pouch may diiffer in design from what appears in the photograph.

Supplied with a converter for use with bottled ink. Platinum recommends Platinum Fountain Pen Ink, though of course any quality bottled ink can be used. Also takes Platinum ink cartridges.

154mm long, 18mm diameter and 34.5g in weight. Platinum recommends that you do not post the cap on the barrel when writing as this can damage the lacquer.

Platinum Izumo Urushi Tamenuri Fountain Pen

The shape of the Izumo fountain pen from Platinum is extremely classic, but still very unique: the round cigar shape is slightly bulbous at the cap and has a narrow waist at the pen barrel. This creates a very balanced and hand-flattering shape. All Tame-Nuri models are painted using the classic Urushi technique. The semi-transparent Urushi lacquer is repeatedly applied and polished in many layers. By adding additional pigments, it gets a second shimmer of color in addition to the original dark red of the Urushi. Especially on the edges of the fountain pen, the layers are so thin that you can see these different colored pigment layers shining through. As Urushi becomes more and more transparent over time, this effect increases.

Like all Platinum fountain pens, the Izumo is a cartridge fountain pen for the special cartridges from our own company. We supply this fountain pen with a converter so that it can be used independently at any time.

There are three different nib strengths to choose from: the 18K gold nibs produced in-house are available in F, M and B. It should be noted here that these Japanese nib sizes are always slightly finer than the comparable European nib sizes.
